To clean DE filter or not to clean

Here is my question. I opened the pool in the middle of May. Very clean, transparent water. After a couple of hours I could swim, but since the water was icy cold, I didn't. Two months have passed now, the pressure on the filter stays at 10psi level, the same as right after startup. Now, is there any reason to clean the filter and replace the DE? In the hope of even cleaner water?

You could backwash it... but for me, I just take the filter apart twice a year and deep clean it. Ours never really rises in pressure, so I can only use time as an indicator.

If the pressure stays down and the water is clear it's fine. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I tear mine down once a year when backwashing won't lower the pressure. If you keep the levels right the filter isn't working very hard.

Thanks! I will leave it alone. Looks like cleaning once per year is enough. At the end of the season I take apart all the equipment (connected with unions), clean the filter, and store everything in a shed. This is how the pad looks like come October:
