Hello friends! I've real TFP from time to time over the years and now it's time to create an account and join the community. I've been running metal frame pools for the last eight years. It was time to buy a replacement again, so this year I splurged and bought a real, hard-sided, above ground pool (Cornelius 15' round x 52'). Really looking forward to having a "real" pool now. We re-leveled the site and packed the ground with stone dust, set the track and put up the pool wall. Hoping to finish the build this week. To save a bit of money I am planning on temporarily hooking up the skimmer to the Intex filter pump and SWCG, and maybe buying a sand filter next year and hard piping it. So ... hi everyone!

Welcome to the forum!

I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.

Yup. I read it a long time ago, and I'll probably have to read it again now that I have a pool that isn't going to get emptied every year. For the last few years I found that a gallon of bleach plus running the SWCG was enough to keep everything in perfect balance for the 3-4 month swimming season. With a steel walled pool that won't be (and shouldn't be?) emptied all the way in the winter, I suspect I'll need some chemistry to clean up last year's water.
