Approximately how long did it take for your basic 6x6 waterline tile and stone coping take to complete? We’ve had a crew of 1-5 guys out here for probably a total of 5 days now and they still aren’t done. We have a 12x24 rectangular pool with a small step bump-out at one end. To top it off, what they have done is laughable. They’ve done a lot of random sized cut tiles (cut with an angle grinder, not a tile saw) and have removed tiles and coping pavers multiple times and reinstalled them for one reason or another. Here’s an example of one thing we found when they left yesterday. I have been here off and on throughout and have seen them literally scratching their heads. They are guessing at tile locations and it doesn’t appear any math or logic is being utilized. We have expressed our concerns with the PB who is coming out again today, but at what point do we ask them for a new crew?

Update: they’re pulling all ceramic tiles off and agreed to get all new (since many of these have already had thin-set/mortar applied and removed at least 1-2x). . . not to mention that I told them it would take them all day just to chip off the existing thin-set anyways. They’re re-working the coping to center the stones over the skimmers. Fingers crossed they get it right this time. PB agreed this same crew would not build the feature wall that’s next on the docket.
