Hello all. Am nervous to install an in wall skimmer. Cutting a bigger hole in the liner I am afraid of the water pressure ripping the corners. Do you have to reinforce the hole after the cut is made or should I not worry about the liner tearing? Thoughts please to help me ease my mind thanks.

Moved from here.

Are you putting it near a corner? I would suggest keeping it on a straight section near the middle of the pool. Perhaps you meant the corners of the cut?
You should install the entire skimmer then cut the liner so that it is already reinforced.

Yep...No problem. I cut my liner with the help of TFP for the first time s couple years ago. Two return lines, one suction line, one skimmer hole. Take your time. Cut slowly. Keep a steady hand. No hooch the night before, no coffee in the mornig..:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I lowered the water level to below the lowest cut line so everything stayed taut . The first plunge of the blade is the most difficult. I used an exacto knife and steadied the hand with the blade with the free hand. Short in and out movement, no forcing the blade, no slicing the liner. If it seems not to want to cut, change the blade. Remember, takeyour time, no need to rush...
