Threaded Connections?

Good morning,

I'm going to install a SWG in the coming months. I plan to replumb. I've always used some threaded connectors so replacing sections later was easier. Are there downsides, air leaks, etc doing this?

Unions might be a little bit better, depending on your situation. Threaded can work but require some careful thinking and some room for expansion to unscrew them......unions don't need the "wiggle room" but are bulkier.

I typically use them closer to the ground or something where I might have to replace a component if the PVC has an issue.

You want unions and most swgs have unions built in. Threaded adapter dont really have any benefit as you have to cut PVC anyway to get it out. Always leave room of straight pipe not crowding fittings and you have room for the future. All equipment should have pump style unions it makes life easy and newer equipment usually comes with them
