ok, through my last post and all others, ya'll have been so helpful to me. thanks for always helping this old gal out that doesnt have any male help. I need a new SWG and i have alwlays had the Intex (throw away brands) because of in the past, they were cheaper, easy to hook up and didnt REQUIRE hard plumbing. i have looked, read reviews, read posts and suggestions on here for people with similar situations as mine, but i really wanted to get something i dont have to do pvc with and also that i can afford. i just dont see paying another $770-800 for a throw away SWG, but i cant go over the $!000 budget. SOOO, someone on here reccommeded to someone the CircuPool Universal 25. any thoughts on that??? Please???? DSP has them for $899 and it says max of 30,000 gal. my pool is 10,500 gal. and AGP (intex) i was reading on there something about using the flexable pvc and wondering if that would be a good thought since i dont have to bury anything???? i surely could glue a few pieces and make it unleakable? thoughts on that too (since i am blonde and over 60?)???? i just need something i can do easily and pretty much stress free. lol, i have enough of that in my life! thanks for any help. I also am looking for something with a little more than a one year warranty. i think this one has a 4 year warranty. thanks again!

If you budget is under $1,000. You have many choices.

1) disposable unit rated for 20K pool under $400 (throw away after a few years).

2) Circupool unit you mentioned, or their brother for less. I have repaired multiple of them, the guts is exactly the same. They also can use the same cell.

thanks so much. are you saying you sell these units or just giving me information? i saw where you said you would loan aquarite boards and cells for testing. im really blonde today and not understanding what you are meaning. i cannot do much other than something easy to install....you know, the plain jane kind. ha. thanks so much.

I am small pool service company and we go through a lot of systems and cells each year, but we are not set up for ecommerce like the circu-pool. Obviously I have extra inventory to sell if you have trouble finding local companies like us. The purpose of my pictures is to share my knowledge on the different brand of products on the market. Circu-pool have many brothers exist at less cost. The guts are identical and completely interchangeable. So far all the "horizontal version" of the hayward aquarite knock off I have seen are made by the same factory in China. Some "name" brand buys a lot of google advertisement and are selling for bit more. They have multiple websites , but essentially selling you the exact same product under different label/branding.

The cheap SWG I believe is also made by the same company, as their cell is exactly the same shape (dead give away), they lack a digital display (only have leds), so you can not really trouble shoot them like getting the water temp, voltage and current, salinity reading, etc. The only way to test them is put in a 5 gallon bucket and see the bubbles. I don't like them but they are certainly very cheap, 10K version is just above $300 and 20K version is under $400 right now, I suggest you buy extra cell(s) with it if you plan to use it for 5+ years. I am not sure the long term parts availabilities as we do not plan to order more when our current stock dries up.

Feel free to ask questions, but if you can find them in a brick and mortar store locally, please support them.

I would certainly be glad to help you out if you live very far from an independent pool shop.

thanks so much. i understand now. i cant afford the prices of the local pool store and we only have one. there are a few others not that far, but they are all so high and if you dont have pools they install, most of the time you are the step child! that is why i was just going to buy online. thanks so much. not sure what you mean by circu-pool have many brothers at less cost? are you referring to the fact of the same guts/components inside? how do i find out about these? again, sorry i am so dumb about some of these things. all confusing to me because i am just a PLUG and PLAY kinda gal. i used to be much more educated and capable of alot of DIY and figuring things out to make them work, but fast forward to 20 years later and inheritance of twin grandkids.......my brain does not work like it once did! thanks so much!

What I am trying to say is the same guts is in many brands (I have seen over 10 for sure). If you want to go with the cheapest route on a quality product, Circu-pool is not your only choice. As we sell the same generic product for less as we only rely on word of mouth locally. PM me if you have trouble find them. View attachment 351021View attachment 351022

I bought a Calimar CMARSHA40-3Y from Pool Supply Unlimited for $625 (whole system, cell and control box) -- they have the CMARSHA25-3Y which might be sufficient for you for $558. It looks identical to the CircuPool and Pureline pictures above, so I suspect it's also made in the same factory and they seem pretty solidly built.

I found that longer warranties weren't always worth that much -- in many cases years 4+ only give a 20% discount off the then full retail price, which might be higher than sale pricing then anyway. Of course there may be other differences that aren't visible, but I was willing to take that chance for a $500+ savings. Will see in 5 or so years!

This is pretty useful information. Are there "knock off brothers" for the cells as well? I have considered buying a second cell as a hedge against obsolesce but only if I can find one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I have the RJ-60+.

Not all Calimar brand is good product. I am sure the one you got is good.
Here are the pictures of Bad (left) and Good (right) cell we have experience.
We have been using Calimar products for over 10 years. The one on the left is absolute junk, they don't even last half of what they rated for, we actually took a loss on those and returned the 4 pallets we did not install yet. The one on the right lasted just as long as Hayward cells.

Moral of the story, whenever you are shopping for generic cell or system.

Shape is more important than brand or color.

If you can recognize the shape, you can get the cheapest product on sale.View attachment 351136
WOW! this is what makes them interchangeable? such knowledge! i am amazed!

Fantastic information. I came across this "unnamed" brand and at $399 it is significantly cheaper than the OEM (listed @ $795 on the Circupool website). Can they be had even cheaper than that? :D

Please see my Calimar comparison above. Do you see the similarity?

Just share my personal experience here.

Forget about the color or brand, check out the shape.View attachment 351158
