Thinking about adding borates

Anybody add them and regret it?

I've been curious about trying them in my pool. My pH seems pretty stable already despite SWCG and spillover aeration, but I like chemistry, so it sounds like something I could fiddle with.

If you have pets that swim and lap up water to drink, its a NO. If not, its a nice addition.

I saw this post on here already. Seems like it's not really too dangerous. Are Borates Safe to Use?

Borates are dangerous if you have pets drinking from the pool.

I added borax to my pool before I understood what they did and my pH has been insanely stable ever since.

Borates do not play nice with any animals or insects if you have big furry friends that go in the pool borates are not a great idea.
