Ok. So if the googly eye at the bottom of the tube is still staring at you when the tube is full, you're sub 30ppm CYA. I'm guessing I'm in the twenties. Cause I did add a couple pounds after I changed the water...
Right plus I did actual ammonia tests. I'm gonna start there though, cause that's kind of like a mini slam to get things underway?Add 10ppm of liquid chlorine. Test 30 minutes later. If it is 3ppm or above, you do not have ammonia.
I don't think you do, if your chlorine held for over 30 minutes, you are good to go.
Its just a practical, in the field ammonia test really- if you hold fc for 30 minutes you’re good to go & proceed with theRight plus I did actual ammonia tests. I'm gonna start there though, cause that's kind of like a mini slam to get things underway?
How come the pool math app isn't logging my numbers?Slammed to 10ppm at 10p.
Next day at 6pm
FC 4.9
CC 0.4
pH 7.3/7.4
TA 80
CALC 140
CYANURIC <30ppm
About to retest and add a pound of cyanuric.
Is ammonia the same as combined chlorine? How come the pool math app isn't logging my numbers?
You need to subscribe. Like 8$ per yearHow come the pool math app isn't logging my numbers?
NoIs ammonia the same as combined chlorine?
By averaging two tests of 4.8 and 5.0 lol. With no subscription it will only save your last log (it will replace the previous one).
How did you get an fc of 4.9ppm?
Just use a 10ml sample & 1 decent scoop of powder- each drop counts as .5 ppm.By averaging two tests of 4.8 and 5.0 lol.
If you're doing dpd and you add your five drops of reagent #3 and it doesn't turn back to magenta, you're done and you're CC is 0.0 correct?Just use a 10ml sample & 1 decent scoop of powder- each drop counts as .5 ppm.
Uses less reagents and plenty accurate.
The end point of the test is when there is no further change - there’s no inbetween.
Its either clear or not.
Also I have added 5lbs CYA. One pound at a time. This should have put me at 30 but the black dot won't disappear even with the test tube full...what's up with that? I'm REAL gun shy after draining and filling the pool not to overdo the CYA. My guy's pool had 120ppm CYA before we drained it lol.If you're doing dpd and you add your five drops of reagent #3 and it doesn't turn back to magenta, you're done and you're CC is 0.0 correct?
Correct. If you're doing dpd and you add your five drops of reagent #3 and it doesn't turn back to magenta, you're done and you're CC is 0.0 correct?
How did you add it ?have added 5lbs CYA. One pound at a time
With the sock. Then I massaged it out of the sock right in the skimmer basket the next day.Correct.
How did you add it ?
It can take a week to register if enough gets trapped in the filter. It sounds like you've been adding it longer than that though so at least most of it should have registered by now. Then I massaged it out of the sock right in the skimmer basket the next day.
I'm glad you told me that. I added another pound but I'm going to wait and see a few days before adding any more.It can take a week to register if enough gets trapped in the filter. It sounds like you've been adding it longer than that though so at least most of it should have registered by now.
Unless the filter was cleaned / backwashed in the meantime.
