I have the TFPro and just got the smartstir as it was on backorder. Question about using this - My chlorine test tube says "Chlorine only". Those with smartstir, do you do your chlorine test in it or in the original tube? I do like this addition for sure. Makes it so much easier

Between you and me, I use the chlorine only tube for everything. If it gets dirty from the DPD powder and whatnot, I channel my inner grown up and clean it. :ROFLMAO:

Use one, use all, if they're dirty, clean them. Congrats on the stirrer. It's a game changer but for whatever reason, people have to see it to understand. Once they have it, they'd never go without.

I am complete opposite to @Newdude (sorry)
I have a dedicated vial (tube) for each test and I have a dedicated magnetic stirrer for each test. FC, CH, TA, Salt
I clean every tube after each test.

Not saying one process is better than the other - the tubes are universal so as long as there is no contamination between each of the tests.

I use the chlorine only one on the speed stir just fine.
My other one is pristine because I almost never need it 😂
Ta stays solid & I have no ch!
I have the Taylor salt kit & use its cylinder on the speedstir too.
Just Don’t forget to clean your pill/cross bar between tests

Sam,

I have two Taylor test tubes in my TF-Pro.. I use one for just the chlorine test and one for everything else.. Not sure it makes any difference, but it does not take any more time to use one tube for the FC test, and the other tube for everything else.

I can't even envision running the tests without a speed-stir device of some kind.

As a side note on the Pro... I put my CYA test tube in upside down.. Bottom up. It seems to make easier to take it in and out.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I'm with HermanTX. I use dedicated tubes for each test and rinse each tube before the test and clean the tube after the test. I use Taylor tubes and Taylor SpeedStir,,,, and if my SpeedStir broke, I would buy another one immediately, between the sample sizer and the SpeedStir, they improve consistency and accuracy of the tests.
