Is the FC adequate for today's loss ? I would have left it on for the day.
My standalone IC60 runs a self check every 12 hours. I don't know if the automation uses that or takes more measurements but obviously it hasn't got the memo yet. Lol.

That is what I did yesterday but it seems like it may still be producing chlorine. I have it unplugged now but I am going to see if one of the breakers in my intelliCenter controls that.

I am not sure on your FC question. If my pool was still generating chlorine over night then I would assume that the OCLT test would really not be accurate since it showed I had more chlorine this morning then what I had last sunset.

Yes. Except you generated chlorine, not salt. But you unplugged the cell now, needing FC added all day, because of tonight's test.
So just making sure your current FC is high enough to make it through today's loss before tonight.

It is not. If it is 0 and the % display on the cell has all the LEDs off then it is OFF.
Your variance is within normal testing errors. I say you passed the OCLT and should move on.

Yes, I meant Chlorine, not salt. I will check my FC level around 4pm today to see what it is at and if I need to add some chlorine to get it to 3ppm or higher I will. Then I can run the test again tonight.

The accuracy of the Taylor reagents is +/-1 drop for each 10. You are within the margin of error.
If the SWG was off, you pass.
Maintain your FC for your CYA. Link-->FC/CYA Levels
Set your cell/pump run time to maintain the top end of the recommended range for your CYA.
FC is safe for people and equipment up to SLAM level. Maintaining the top of the range gives you some wiggle room.

Ok, well thank you all for your help on this. This has definitely been a learning curve. I'm sure I will have more questions going forward. Now if we can just get this weather to warm up to the 80's swimming season can start! Cheers!
