You have me confused.
You have the oto chlorine test - put in 5 drops of titrant and the solution turns shades of yellow. In this test you are seing 5 because thats
as high as the test can read.
Then you have the FAS-DPD test that is a vial that you fill to 10ml you add powder and the solution turns pink. On that test you are getting 26.
26 is your FC level, not 5.
FC + CC = TC. You said "FC is 5 and TC is 5 so that equals 0" No, not possible and you are just misunderstanding.
I wouldn't bother doing the yellow OTO test right now. It may serve a purpose in your daily pool care routine in the future, but it won't help you now and it's just confusing the situation.
Just use the FAS-DPD test.
Yes, you can use the recommended FC levels from the Pool Calculator, they differ slightly from the CYA chart. Either will work, the higher FC level on the chart will likely work faster.
So, if your FC is below 18, bump it back up with bleach. You may use 18 or 24, tis up to you.
