During the last update we’ve setup some new features that were slowly starting to test. The first of these, Push Notifications are now available for testing! Stay on top of the latest pool care advice and vibrant community discussions with real-time notifications.

Here’s How to Enable Push Notifications:

For Android Device Users:
1. On the forum, simply select “Enable Notifications.”
2. That’s it! You’ll start receiving updates instantly.

For iOS Device Users:
1. Open Safari and navigate to the Trouble Free Pool forum’s website.
2. Tap the ‘Share’ icon (a square with an arrow pointing up) at the bottom of the screen.
3. Scroll and select ‘Add to Home Screen.’
4. Name the PWA (e.g., Trouble Free Pool) and tap ‘Add.’
5. Launch the newly created PWA from your Home Screen.
6. Log in with your forum credentials.
7. In the PWA, navigate to settings or notification preferences, and enable push notifications.
8. Customize your preferences to receive notifications that matter most to you.

This new feature we’re testing will keep you connected and informed, whether you’re on the go or just lounging by the pool. We’re interested in hearing some feedback as we test these over the Winter months.

FYI, they seem to work for Windows 11 as well.

For Android Device Users:
1. On the forum, simply select “Enable Notifications.”
2. That’s it! You’ll start receiving updates instantly.
Which page is this on (e.g. home page, forum page, etc)?

I am not seeing a selection for this except in the settings area for push notifications which were already selected.

I did get the prompt on Windows 11 which I selected and maybe that is good for all devices?
It should require you to approve on every device as every device should require your permission.

I’ll fully admit I don’t have a ton of knowledge how Android permissions work so some of what I’m trying to convey maybe wrong. Are you willing to preform some steps via PM to help me make sure I’m passing the correct info?

On Android it was toggle-able in account preferences and remebered its setting. Now that disappeared so it can tell me it's off everytime I log in instead. Then notify me that I ignored the notification.

'Never ask again' only lasts until a history/cookie wipe. Then it's back.

I think I figured out the problem. A long time ago, and since forgotten, I had disabled the option in Chrome to allow sites to request notifications. Once I re-enabled this setting, I got the popup requesting to add the notification for TFP.
