I have an inground saltwater pool, about 14,000 gallons. I bought a test kit at the beginning of the summer (Taylor K-1005). After dealing with black algae spots a couple times, shocking the pool to get rid of it, and lots of reading on here, I know keeping my chlorine at 1-5ppm isn’t enough. I’m trying to figure out the best way to test my chlorine levels over 5ppm. I have everything else in my current kit, so I’d rather not buy a brand new kit for over $100 just to test my chlorine. What do I need to get to test for higher levels of chlorine without buying an entire kit with everything else?

The FAS DPD is the correct answer.
In the meantime, use distilled or RO water to cut the sample down to where you can read it with your kit and realize that you lose accuracy doing it. My CH is really high now and until I have a weekend to drain the pool that is how I am measuring it so I don't have to do 100 drops plus each time.
I. E. If you use a half RO you double the amount of chlorine measured. It is much better to use the proper kit though.
I duct tape and bailing wire a lot of stuff that probably isn't TFP approved but doing that until you get the proper test is much better than not knowing.
