Test kit

Is the Taylor k-2005 a good test kit to use?
It is a fine kit but it is incomplete. The K-2006 is the one you want. The chlorine test is much better in the K-2006, otherwise they're the same. You are highly unlikely to find one in a store, and don;t let the salesman tell you the kits are the same.

But if you already bought a 2005, you can buy just the FAS-DPD chlorine test to make it complete.

My head was spinning trying to reconcile all the different kits that Taylor makes.. the K-1000This and the K-1000That.. so I just got the one from TFT. In the end I think I got a better deal on the tests I will tend to run the most. Now, I just have to put up with funky case they put it in.

Yeah, after spending for the 1005 and separate tests for FAS-DPD and CYA, I've spent enough to have gotten a TF-100. All my reagents expire in October this year, so I'll be replacing my mish-mosh of tests with a TF-100. And maybe a Speed Stir if they're back in stock!
