The instructions say to add the mixture until the black dot "just" disappears.

Does that mean it immediately disappears? Because when I add a drop, it disappears until it settles, then slightly reappears.

You should not be able to see the dot when you glance to see it. Not just based on right after you add a drop.

Do this.

Fill the line to the 100 mark. Look away. Glance back and see if you see the dot at first glance. If you can see the dot at first glance, move to the next (lower mark) and repeat.

Stop when you notice at first glance you don't see the dot. If you stare at it you will always see the dot or a faint resemblance of a dot.
