Take care, use 10mL sample.

When you use the reagent, hold the bottle vertical and squeeze VERY gently, allow the drop to form and drop under its own weight. Swirl (unless you have a speed stir).

If you squeeze drops out quickly, they are smaller than expected and will require more drops.

Def didn’t use 100 drops on one test but wish I had because of how much I used in the end. I just thought something was wrong.
As far as application of drops and drop size, position, etc. I’m following.
LC is from Walmart and is 10%. Expiration is close! Still had strong smell. I bought twice as much as I needed and almost half WAS expired! Husband picked up and didn’t tell him to check expiration. I’m taking back and exchanging

Get yourself a good test kit, like a good Taylor kit. Don't use strips - those are Crud. You can never see the differences in color. Also, you can either get it with a Taylor kit or separately, but definitely get the FAS-DPD chlorine test - so much easier to test Free CL2. When adding drops (for a drop count) it will change from pink to clear, and it is a very distinct change so you know exactly how much Free CL2 you have. And, it's also easier to test the Combined Chlorine as well. pH is still a little challenging, since it is a color match, but it is much better and easier than test strips (with a Taylor pH test, you're still matching colors, but the colors are much better differentiated). Also, if you can do it, for $45 you can get the magnetic speedstir. It makes stirring and titration tests easier.

Thank you! I did end up buying the K2006C test kit, it’s great but it didn’t come with speedstir. Will probably invest in one soon..lol

That chlorine was done on the 249th day of 2024. 24 is the first number and it is the year. The next number, 249, is the number of the day it was made on. That means your chlorine is 45 days old and well within the acceptable time period. I am thinking your chlorine is a bit hotter than printed or your pool size is off a bit. As such your pool should be REAL clear now LOL You did not do any harm to your pool but boy any bad things in your pool are done for!
