So my pool is a year old now. I've always used a TF 100 kit. Last year when my TA was 50 my PH would stay balanced. This year in order to get my PH to balance my TA is now 40. I've been adding MA every 2-3 days to keep the PH at 7.5. So should I bump my TA up and keep adding acid or just let it ride? What are the complications of a low TA?

Current test:

FC - 4
CC- 0
CH- 300
TA- 40
CYA- 35-40
PH- 7.5
Borates - 48 ppm
Water temp 88f

My only concern is you are running at the bottom end of the range for CSI. Very close to etching/destruction of plaster. Temperature changes can affect that greatly.

If I were you I would try using a bit higher TA. But you can run the same numbers I just did with Poolmath and make your own decision.

Take care.

Dave is correct, don't take the TA any lower.

How is your fill water as far as CH is concerned. Bringing up the CH a little (350) and letting the pH ride a little higher like 7.8 will give you a better CSI and the 7.8 will probably be easier to maintain.
