Can a high Ta affect IC-60 with a high salt reading with new salt in pool ? Brand new IC!
Lights | Temperature |
---|---|
No LEDs | Below 30F |
40% | 36 to 45F |
40% and 60% | 46 to 55F |
60% | 56 to 65F |
60% and 80% | 66 to 75F |
80% | 76 to 85F |
80 and 100% | 86 to 95F |
100% | 96 to 99F |
100% blinking | over 99F |
All LEDs blinking | Sensor bad |
After adding the 2000ppm of salt, the test read 1,600 which is to be expected as it was a fast test after adding. I did a restart on the ic60 and it still read 9000. Just to be clear the cell was started to check the test cycle but was set to 0% production on the app, so it would not run the plates. Added 8ppm of FC Liquid. What is the salinity of your pool water from an independent test like the K-1766?
If i was in wife input Mode "ON", then 99.9% of the time this statement would definitely be True! I do have to fess up that the IC-60 was installed backwards and could not get the flow switch to turn green.I doubt it is a bad "sensor", more likely you...![]()
My pool logs does not show the second pool setup i have(lake house IC-60). @Leebo Is there a way to see both Pool logs when you click on the PoolMath Logs icon? Or a button to switch pool as in the app?Are you replacing an IC40 cell?

Exactly why my question was very loosely at first. My mind knew something was not right and was trying to blame the TA. FYI they are 2 different K-2006C kits for pool A and B. Next trip i will take my kit to compare. Thanks again. No way under the current laws of physics and chemistry
If you have sharing switched on for both pools they are both visible- u have to do this in the settings for each pool.Back at Home. Sorry guys for the sketchy question, was at the lake house setting up the new pool and very slow internet.
To recapitulate:
New pool at the lake house
Fill water numbers
Ph 6.5(best guess,yellow)
Ta 400
CH 300
Salt did not test
Filled up with Well pump(neat trick, i plumed 1.5 inch well pipe to the Main drains with valve) filled up 87,000 lts in 4 hrs.
Added 40ppm of CYA via sock method
Added 2000ppm of salt to start but before i run up all the equipment primed and the IC read 9000 on the screenlogic app. That is why i was intrigued that the sensor could be wrong or maybe a high TA could affect the reading which was doubtful but that is why i asked anyways.

After this went for a quick bite to eat for lunch, after returning 2 hrs later ran full test again.
Fc 7.4
ph 6.5( best guess)
Ta 350
Ch 250
Cya 40 (presumed)
Salt 2000
temp 21ºC
CSI -0.41
Ran the IC cycle and read 1950ppm, then added another60 Kgs of salt to reach 2900 which is what i like.
Checked the app a few minutes ago and the IC read 2900ppm.

This is where i tough i had all the pool knowledge needed to startup a new pool, just to come back to bite me. As of right now the pool is up and running fine. IC is setup to run 30% for 24 hrs as a startup begging tomorrow.

Allen, Matt and Jim, thank you very much for your support.![]()
I just did and they both show. Thought the main sharing settings would apply, but not. As you can see the new logs, both test kits proved to be the same, and as @Jimrahbe said, It was all ME! Too many things on my hands while launching a new pool and automation. Since i like my ph on the low side, this pools TA is going to help. Just lowered my PH to 7.0 and my CSI is 0.04, i will mostl likely need to keep it down low. Now i have to fight a leak. First step is to close the skimmers and let the water drop. Will keep you posted. If you have sharing switched on for both pools they are both visible
