My Dolphin is dead after an almost 4 year run. Great cleaner although the cable gets very twisted after several runs, even though it’s a swivel type. Had to replace the cable last year (60’) and the new one wasn’t better in that regard. Anyone know whether Polaris’ swivel cable is less prone to tangling / more adept at untangling? I’m leaning toward sticking with Maytronics but if Polaris has solved the tangling issue that might sway me. TIA.

That said, if you leave the EVO in the pool, and run many times in a row, it will still tangle... but, since the cable is twice as thick, it does not tie itself in knots like the Dolphins do..

I still love it!!! When I need another robot it will be an EVO..
That said, it has only been about two years, so only time will tell how long it lasts..

In 8 seasons I never had an issue with my Polaris cable twisting. The robot is having issues this year and I will most likely buy another Polaris.

Thanks for the advice. Got the 614iq and love it! No cable twisting - as you said, the cable is much better - thicker and stiffer, far less prone to twisting.
For the benefit of others who may read this: The separate dual front rollers make it more agile and it doesn’t get hung up on the drains like my Dolphin did occasionally. The basket is easier to clean since you don’t need to remove 4 individual screen panels and then struggle with how to reassemble them. Love the programmability of the iq which my Dolphin didn’t have - the app works well and wifi connection is stable. My only minor nit-pick is I’d prefer the color of the cleaner to not be so bright - just draws your eye to it more than the plain white/grey of my retired Dolphin.
Overall great value and feature set. Definitely recommend!
