Switching to Salt - Nature2 Soft or AquaPure? Also question about comment from PB.

I'm in the part of Texas where the pool builders hate SWG.

First Question: Does anyone have an opinion on the which works the best between Nature2 fusion Soft and AquaPure....assuming of course that I'm going to yank out the stupid mineral cartridge on the Nature2.

Second Question: I currently have Nature2 chlorine feeder. I asked my PB, Puryear Custom Pools, (3 y/o pool) to add an AquaPure salt system that way I (or the next owner potentially) could go back to chlorine if I ever wanted to. He says absolutely not, can't do it. Only thing they will do is to swap out the nature2 fusion for the nature2 fusion soft. Does this make any sense at all????? Why can't I have both in the system, there is a big long pipe running from my backwash valve to my nature2 where the aquapure could be installed.

And before you ask why I would ever go back to tabs I don't know...Stuff happens. Maybe my wife decides she doesn't like the salt. Far fetched I know, but it seems weird to yank out a system that I already paid for when I could have both.....

You can have both systems installed. Even when a Texas builder will install a SWCG, they always add a tablet chlorinator too. Only place in the country they do that.

SWCG should be the last item prior to the water returning to the pool.

I think you'll find more support for a Jandy Aquapure here if you ever have any problems.

It is more likely that your wife will kill you, if you try to go back to a normal chlorine pool..

I would stop trusting Puryear. They do what makes sense for them. ... But that's just MY experience. I didn't realize they were in south texas as well.

We have aquapure and it works just fine. Not installed or maintained by Puryear.

Fellow Texas here with a 1 month old pool. My builder installed a tablet feeder just downstream of my SWCG. Someone here said that ideally you would have a check valve between the two, but I don’t.

I’ve been using the tablet feeder so far because it’s convenient and liquid chlorine is so hard to find. I’m about to transition to the SWCG now that I’m past the 30 day plaster curing period, at which point I’ll remove the tablets. I do like having it as a backup though, just in case I ever need it. They’re really cheap so I don’t see any real downside to having it.

Our experience wasn't great with them but not as horrible as you had. I'm just peeved they talked me out of the SWG when that's what I wanted in the first place. now I'm spending an extra grand to get what I originally wanted AND fighting with them over which system to install. I know, my bad.

Not sure. Hopefully one of our other members can give yo advice on that. One cannot always assume a chlorinator is empty.

The FusionSoft has identical specs to the Aquapure. It may be the same unit in fact. I like it a lot right now I have it at just 25% and it is maintaining my chlorine at a level of 8. Usually during the season I run it at around 53%. I am fairly certain it is the exact same vessel as the Fusion. One thing I really like about it is the call itself can be easily and totally removed. Just remove the plug and pull it out.

I see no reason why you couldn't put these 2 inline with the proper plumbing. I would not suggests getting them both but since you have the Fusion already. I haven't put pucks in my pool though since I turned on my SWG.

Thanks man. So the latest...I keep pushing back on wanting the Aquapure in line with my current nature2 chlorinator. At this point it's really the point of the matter, not that I really care about keeping the feeder. Unless their is a really good reason, the customer should get what they ask for. Just my opinion. Finally they relented on the condition that I give up the 3 year warranty. BS!!!! So, based on feeback from several user's here who've had good luck with the nature2 FS, I'm going to relent and let them swap it in for my current Nature2 fusion.

All the headache aside from dealing with Puryear once again, I'm super stoked to finally have a salt system!!!! Thanks all.

Personally I would not give up the warranty, but instead get rid of the chlorinator. A $10 float feeder will accomplish the same thing in case you need to use pucks.

If you have the version with an app on your phone, then I think you have iAqualink also, which is the web version of the interface. On the app, hit “web” in the top right. You can also go straight to the web interface from iaqualink.com.

No, not the version for the phone. It comes with it's own handheld floating remote and they call it a PDA.

You can upgrade to the full web version with the IQ20-RS upgrade. It's an easy upgrade you'll still retain your PDA but won't really use it anymore. This also allowed Jandy to access your system for troubleshooting and stuff.

Just did a web search, they seem pretty hard to get a hold of. Do you only replace the transmitter unit, or do you have to replace the whole aqualink control panel? They are coming out Wednesday to install the salt system. I'll have to see if they have on in stock.

It is another antenna but you still retain the PDA antenna so you'll have 2 antennas. Then also has a small processor board (below). The whole upgrade takes about 15 minutes to install. Important thing if you decide on the upgrade is to specify the IQ20-RS and NOT the IQ20-a. The -a is totally useless.
