Swimming during Chlorine Lock

I have a pool cleaning client with a severe case of chlorine lock. CYA is 115-120, free chlorine right after chlorinating is 1.5ppm but TC is through the roof. I can’t even measure it with a good TFtest without using a whole bottle of reagent. They are on board with replacing 1/2 of their water but water delivery will take a while. So, can they safely swim. Does the non-free chlorine in TC pose a danger?
Thanks in advance
Billy

Chlorine lock is an antiquated term that really means nothing more than the water's sanitary balance is way out of whack. The CYA is so high that the FC cannot be maintained properly, and that's the case here. To answer simply - no. No one should be swimming in water with a CYA that high and next to no FC. See our FC/CYA Levels. I would recommend that water exchange as soon as possible to lower the CYA so that the FC can be properly balanced as noted on that chart. Have a nice weekend.
