Swimline 40 gauge liner thickness

Hi all.
I just cut my skimmer in and thought I'd share the actual thickness of Swimline's 40 gauge / Perma 40 liner.

I'm coming up with 0.019 or 19 mil.

I'm using a Brown and Sharpe vernier caliper so I could be a mil off or so. I'd call it basically a 20 mill liner.

Just for fun I measured the "liner" of a little 8 ft Summerwaves ring pool. The side was 20 mil and the floor was 10 mil. Lol

That seems backwards doesn't it?

Nope - thick walls are preferred.

It just occurred to me, I did this after installing the liner and filling the pool so the liner is streched.

Perhaps it was a bit thicker originally?

It sure was a huge pita to install.

Gauge doesn’t equal mil..

That I knew well ahead of time.
That's why I took the time to measure it.
