SWG schedule on Omnilogic

First Time poster, been reading for awhile. My pool builder bailed on me so I've been learning a lot from this website. Thanks for all the help.

My chlorinator on my omnilogic shows that it has the ability to run a schedule, but when I set it up it does not come on. Any thoughts? Is it ok just to leave it on all the time? I had a pool guy tell me that its not on or working unless the pump is on, Is this true?

Hi! Welcome to TFP!
I have omnilogic as well. My chlorination stays "on" but doesn't activate unless the pump is running, and then it only runs the percentage of time that I have it set. Keeping it "on" just makes it available for use when your pump runs on its schedule.
Hope this helps! I had the same question last year when we first started with all of this.

I had the same problem...my PB didn't really explain to me how the OL 'really' worked so I had to figured it out. Keep in mind that the pump is a prerequisite for any other equipment to work properly, scheduled or non-scheduled. Solar and/or gas heaters, SWG, pool sweeps, etc. MUST run and scheduled inside the schedule of the pump or they wont work properly or at all. For instance, schedule the pump to run from 8-5 and then you can schedule your SWG to run WITHIN that scheduled time frame, say 9-4 as an example. Once this concepts is understood, your OL experience will dramatically improve! Good luck!
