SWG readings

Hi - looking to understand why the red light on my SWG is on. When testing the water it shows 3200, but the SWG shows low salt? I’ve seen comments in other posts about the thermistor going bad. The SWG is only 2 yrs old. Is there anything else I should be doing?

thanks!!

Check to be sure it is not the COLD light. If your pool water falls below 55F, your SWCG will shut off.

M,

Assuming it is not the cold water shut off light... If the only light on is a single red light, then it is the cold water light. If you have any green lights, then it is not the cold water light.

As the water gets colder the tolerance between what the cell "thinks" the salt level is and the actually salt level seems to get worse and worse... The cell has an accuracy of +/- 500 ppm, so not all that accurate to begin with. I would bring the actual salt level up to 3400 or 3500 and see if that makes the cell work. If not, I would replace the flow switch assembly which is where the thermistor is located.

Thanks,

Jim R.

My IC40 fluctuates a bunch with water temp. As my water cools in winter the cell’s PPM reading gets further off. As it warms it gets closer. Right now with water temp at 58 deg my cell is showing 3400 I know I’m at 3900 from Taylor test. Very consistent on my cell. Like clockwork. I’d just trick it if I was you and add some salt to see if it light goes off
