SWG reading "hot" and no instant salt reading

For the past month, my SWG (Aquarite T15 Turbo Cell, 2 years old) has been acting up. Sometimes when I check it, it will read "HOT". Typically if I turn it off and wait a while, it will stop reading hot and give a salt readings when I turn it back on.
My average salt reading has been low. I re-calibrated 2x and it works ok for a while then starts going back down (today it reads 2200 and my salt is 3400 when I check it).
most of the time the instant salt reading says zero.

My chlorine levels are ok, so it must be working most of the time.
Any ideas on what is causing this? is my SWG going bad?
thanks

It's a bad temperature sensor in the cell.

How old is the cell?

What are the first 4 characters of the cell serial number?

The cell is probably close to being depleted.

Your cell was manufactured in 2019 so it is two to three years old.

You have a 4 year warranty on the cell and should make a warranty claim with Hayward.

What are the diagnostic readings?

Pressing the diagnostic button sequentially will display:

  • Default salt display
  • Pool temp
  • Cell Voltage - When not generating, the voltage is about 30 to 32 volts dc. When generating, the voltage drops about 1 volt per amp of current.
  • Cell current
  • Desired output (% of the knob)
  • Instant salinity
  • Product name
  • Software revision (r.XX)
  • Cell type
