SWG on same switch as Filter

Kris,

Yes, you should never allow the SWCG to run if the pump is not on.

If this is causing the cell to produce more chlorine than you need, you should either turn the cell output percentage down or reduce the pump run time.

Quick follow up.

If the Pump is a Variable Speed and is turned on and off along with the SWG, won't the battery eventually die on the Variable Speed Pump?

I did not see where they have a VS pump... But, I am not a fan of turning VS pumps on/off, but have been told it will not harm them. I doubt they have a battery, which is pretty old school. I suspect most of them use a cap to store a charge for at least a day or so...

For VS pumps, I personally recommend constant power be applied to the pump and a timer or relay system be used to control the SWCG.

Thanks,

Jim R.
