SWG on or off while adding salt?

Sorry if this has been answered.I struggle to search these forums.I put in key words push search and get blank screen.I see some people say turn it off others say ok to add to bottom pool with pump and SWG on and brush until dissolved.Dont want to affect my pricey SWG.

Depends. Part of bag? No issue.
Five bags, turn it off, run the suction from the main drain, brush well.

For peace of mind, I turn the SWCG off when adding salt. It is not exactly difficult to do (just flip a switch) and assures no issues.

Thanks.I don't have a switch but not too involved to use the panel or the remote. I'll do that going forward.
