Does it matter if the salt generator cell is placed before or after the pool heater? Does the cell output affect the heater or does the warmer water affect the cell? I'm installing a new Pentair IC60 cell and a new Pentair Master Temp heater.

The SWG should always be last. It's not as critical as say an inline (tab) chlorinator that holds very acidic tabs, but you still want the SWG as the last items before returning to the pool.

It even specifies that a check valve be installed between the two.
