SWG and Pop Ups on Same Return

I’m stuck with it since it’s a 15 month old build and being fixed under warranty.
I’m asking that the PB’s local Jandy rep ( they said they are checking with him) tell me it’s ok to have the SWG and IFCS on same return. This is a reputable long time PB and they have worked with me through several issues so I’m not trying to make a problem but I darn sure want it all done according to specifications.

Will they fix the next one under warranty? And the one after that?

If the TruClear is not robust enough to give you the expected lifespan what they say does not matter.

If you don't have other returns, then there's not much you can do.

Where else will you put it?

It's difficult to have the correct pressure on the in-floor returns and the cell at the same time.

You can put the cell on the sheers after a filter but then you have to run the sheers the whole time you need to make chlorine.

Not really, the builder did not follow the manufacturer's installation instructions and that constitutes a defect in workmanship, design, engineering and architecture.

Therefore, you are entitled to request a replacement of the system at no cost to you other than maybe the actual price difference if the AquaPure costs more.

If the builder has professional "Errors and Omissions" insurance, you can file a claim citing a professional error.

The problem is that the pressure at point 1 and point 2 has to be the same and this means that you have to create a restriction before the cell to limit the flow going to the cell.

What is the pump model number?

Looks like you have to have the cell on the return with the in-floor cleaner.

It's wrong per the manual and it will probably continue to crack.

You can install a smaller impeller to reduce the flow and pressure.

What is the filter pressure and the cleaner head pressure?

Cleaner head pressure is currently fluctuating between 10-20 psi
Filter pressure fluctuates between 22 and 26
I’m not sure if this is affected by the small leak in the TruClear lid or not. I’m not a pool girl lol.
These readings are currently taken as I’m standing out here at equipment.

Most likely, the cell will continue to have problems and Jandy will say that it is not installed according to their installation instructions.

Email Jandy and ask them what to do.

Won't that negatively effect her IFCS performance?

I would put in the Aquapure 1400 cell before downgrading the impeller.

10 psi is probably as it switches between zones.

If the pressure is 20 psi, the pressure can go down to 14 psi and still be in the recommended range.

The performance will be decreased, but you will have to try it to see if it still works adequately or if it underperforms.

Downsizing the impeller will also save a bunch on electrical costs.

I'm not a big fan of the in-floor cleaners in any case.

You can try a smaller impeller to reduce the pressure.
Thank you by the way for your helpful answers

I contacted them yesterday by phone. It was not a helpful conversation at all. The rep said to wait and hear what the pool builder’s local Jandy rep says. I suspect I need to speak to someone a bit higher up.
I have just finished sending the email to customer service at Fluidra , attached photos and shared my concerns. I will post back when I hear from them what was said.

On that 2nd pump - it has 2 lines = one says waterfall and other says returns - where does the returns line go into the pool?
You guys are helping me to learn all the ins and outs I tell ya! I’m not sure where it goes into the pool. I have 3 side main drains, 1 floor main drain, the waterfall, the pop ups, and there is 1 return (I think that’s what it is) in the deep end side wall.

Close the waterfall and see where the water comes out.

The front wide part of the handle says "Off", rotate that towards the side that says Waterfall and then turn on the pump.

For things like this, it's rarely helpful to talk to anyone on the phone.

People who answer the phone won't have the knowledge or authority to handle things like this.

When an email comes in, it gets routed to the right person (hopefully).

And, the answer is in writing, which helps reduce the chance anyone claims they didn't say something.
