Circupool repaired the unit at 40% cost under warranty. Bad main board, cost me $350.

Lasted one hour after install.

The SWCG really hasn’t saved me money at all, probably a small loss if my accounting was correct. It’s saved me some time, I’m sure, but I’ve also spent a lot of time managing this finicky system, and that’s pretty frustrating when it ultimately doesn’t work and doesn’t save any money.

I’m on the fence about going back to liquid chlorine.

As I said in post #2 the RJ+ is a more robust system.

Circupool just imports and puts their brand on a bunch of different SWG designs. They don’t engineer any of their stuff.

And I probably should have gone with that in the first place, sure. I’m out $2k+, can’t really justify another big purchase like that. Maybe if it had lasted longer and started to generate savings. But like I said, I’m on the fence. I like the idea of it but everyone I asked around to has had lots of issues with them.

You cannot judge all SWGs with that wide of a brush.

There are some good ones and lots of junk out there.

Ask everyone what specific model SWG they have and what problems they have had. Some are more trouble-free than others, but none are maintenance-free.

In TX, you run an SWG harder and longer than I do in the Northeast. But if you do not have an SWG, you will use much more chlorine in whatever form you choose to buy it.

I’m not saying all are this unreliable, but forgive me for this experience putting a dent in my trust of these systems overall. So, yes, once I save up for a more expensive system then I might choose that route and install.

I don’t mind maintenance, I take care of my stuff as much as I can. Many of the problems were from fast calcium scaling, but plenty of them were controller problems. All anecdotal, of course. I don’t recall the brands besides people who had Circupool ones.

It’s another system error, same as I had before from what I can tell. The system error troubleshooting procedure online doesn’t match what is actually going on sometimes (as the rep explained), so it’s hard to tell what the issue is, but they’ve said before that either it’s the main board or the temp sensor and I already changed both.

Welp, there’s a first time for everything. Fingers crossed they’ll do something about it. They’ve been helpful overall, so I’m fairly confident they will.
