Hoping someone can give me a hand with this. I checked my chlorine level today and it was lower than it normally is. We've had a lot of rain so I thought maybe it was because the salt level was also low. When I checked the salt concentration at the panel I noticed the screen said "no flow" and the green flow light was off.

I've checked the skimmer and the filter basket; both clean. I just deep cleaned the cartridges a week ago.

I turned the breaker off for about 5 minutes and when I turned it back on the LCD screen said flow and the green flow light was back on.

However, 30 minutes later there's no flow again.

It also says cell reversing and there are no error codes that I've seen.

I also removed the flow/salt/temp sensor; the 2 silver electrodes (?) looked pristine to me but I wiped them anyway. It reads the temp at 86F which is accurate with my pool thermometer. The salinity is up to 3000 from 2800 after I added salt.
.
It's the no flow part that I need help with.

Is it a bad sensor?

Anything thoughts, help, and troubleshooting would be appreciated.

This is a brand new pool, filter, SWCG, etc this year.

Thank you.image.jpg

Crosby,

Either you have good flow or you don't...

What does the water feel like coming out of a pool return? Is it weak or strong?

What speed is your pump running?

If your pool is green or cloudy, that could clog your filter in a day or so..

Thanks,

Jim R.

I'm not talking about the water flow, that's fine. The SWCG isn't sensing flow and therefore it isn't producing chlorine.

I did some troubleshooting on my own; hopefully this helps someone else.

I removed the sensor and wiped the electrodes with diluted muriatic acid. It's been running now for the past 2 days with no more "no flow" message and chlorine production seems to be working as it should.
