Heard what sounded like short cycling back at pool equipment pad. Found heater having a "sw open" error. Did some googling. I've cleaned sand filter which I knew wasn't an issue because I had just done it. Both skimmers seem to be pulling water in just fine so I'm just assuming the switch is stuck open. Is there anything else I can check and is it ok to run heater while it's doing this?

Is it “water sw open” ? If it is, it’s the pressure switch like you guessed. The switch is simple design, the pressure causes a piston to push up and hit a microswitch. So either the flow is just barely engaging it, opening and closing that loop. Or the switch or wiring is causing it to open briefly. I would increase rpms that are binded to your heater. If that doesn’t fix it, I would investigate switch and wiring.

It does say "water ps open". I've tried running vsp at highest setting and it still "short cycles".

This $10 part solved the problem for me. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004VTGKJQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
