I have this pump for my automatic pool cover. It works well. It has an auto sensor so that it will switch on when the water level rises. Toss it out onto the cover whenever rain is in the forecast and it does the rest. It can get a little finicky if you get lots of particulate matter on your cover like dead leaves and such. You might have to open it up an clean it out. It's not hard, the instructions walk you through it.
