Suction/pressure line not used

Good morning everyone, I have a suction/pressure line that is unused. I see the stub of PVC with a cap by my sand filter etc and in the pool I can feel a bump under my vinyl liner like they had never cut the liner and connected whatever the water side piece would be to either use it as a suction cleaner line or a polaris type pressure side. Since I am in the market to buy a robot and wouldnt necessarily need this line, I am wondering if it is advisable to cut the liner and install a fitting of some fashion and connect it to my pressure side and add a return fitting? Currently I have 2 return fittings opposite my skimmers, this unused bump is centered between my skimmers on the skimmer side. And I think this might help with the dead zone that I have in my deep end lined up with that fitting... But that is pure speculation. Have any of you cut a liner to put a fitting on a pipe? Is there concern with connecting an additional return to the pool? I have a 20'x40' with a 9.5' deep end. Any thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

Why?

Why mess with a good liner?

To get a proper return installed you need to pop out the liner to sandwich the gasket.

I would wait until the next liner replacement to open up that line if you want.

Liners can give you 10-15 years if you take care of them. Proper water chemistry will keep the liner from getting brittle.

When a liner starts going bad you will have tears and patches.
