Finding that i am gaining air in my pump basket. It happens irregularly and seems to be more consistent mid day when sunny. This is a new pool, just filled last week.
Troubleshooting so far:
1) Doesn't happen at all in spa mode.
2) happens when pool mode:
a) with skimmer closed / off position
b) with drain in closed/off position
c) with drain and skimmer open (obviously)

With those conditions the issue has to be between the pool side of the pool/spa jandy valve and the suction jandy valve, right?

Very little progress using the bucket of water trick. I also used press and seal to wrap the fitting areas of the jandy valves. The only time i thought i saw a reduction of air bubbles was pouring water over the handle and grease cap areas. Am i missing something?

Makes sense. Maybe that valve needs a closer look? Being so new, is your builder coming out to look?

Also remember though that VSPs commonly accumulate a little air thorough the day. VSP owners commonly ramp-up the rpms a little once or twice a day to purge the pump pot of air. So I wanted to mention that in case you believe this may be the situation.

Yeah, I have a call in but also said it’s not a rush as I couldn’t reproduce on demand at that time.
Expecting it to be looked at at the 10 day mark when they were coming out anyway.

This occurred at 3k rpm as well as lower speeds. It was a tiny stream of small bubbles. In fact I completely discounted it at first as they were tiny air bubbles being pulled out of the big bubble at the top by the current.

Figured it out I think. The screws were not tight. And I don’t mean hulk arms tight. They all took a very gentle 3/4 turn. It’s too soon but I saw an immediate change for the good. The stream of tiny bubbles stopped.

Will see what happens tomorrow in the late day sun.
