Successful SLAM then cloudy water months later

PSI monitoring should be done at high speed. You will not see a PSI change if you are running low speed. I check mine at 3000RPM.

Deep clean is rarely needed. Sand just takes longer. If it is improving, then you are likely ok.

What filter do you have? Have you added any pool store products we don't recommend?
I monitored psi at both 2400 and 3000. Psi went form 11 to 13-14 than stopped even for 6 hours.

Glad to hear. Would like to avoid deep clean. Have an 18 year old Tagelus TA-60. Sand was replaced about 4-6 years ago. Don’t know why.

At open I added some Alkalinity up on 2 occasions. Happy now they didn’t recommend anything else. Historically I start at open shocking pool after adding stanilizer. Then work on balancing..
Full renovation of pool last spring. This is first year we didn’t drain pool below returns. Left water at skimmers with gigits, etc. said to lower chance of floating liners. Periodic drain pool after rain with sump pump at least 4-5 times over winter and spring. Likely coincidence with algae.

I monitored psi at both 2400 and 3000. Psi went form 11 to 13-14 than stopped even for 6 hours.
If clean is 11, backwash at 14. Slam or not...

Sand lasts FOREVER, if you maintain your pool with our recommended chemicals, and backwash as proposed.

Sounds like you are doing a great job!

Your CYA is 40. Always round up.

Driving pH to 7.2 to address TA is ok. When you get to TA of 80. Don't drop pH below 7.8.

Also, target the top end of the recommended FC range, WHEN YOU TEST. If you have to dose higher so you test the next time and are top of the range, then dose higher. Link-->FC/CYA Levels
