Strainer Basket Pressure

I have a salt pool installed just under 3 years ago. Everything is working normally as far as I can tell, however in the past couple of days I have noticed that when I clean the strainer basket (right before the Pentair VS pump), the water isn’t gurgling upon release of pressure that normally occurs when I unscrew the lid. It recedes slightly but doesn’t gurgle back thru the system (sometimes I would even add water to prime the pump when restarting since the level drops significantly) as it did normally and I’m wondering why?

It may have to do with the water level in your pool.

Assuming that your equipment pad is above the water level in the pool, the water stays in the pump basket for the same reason that water stays in a straw if you put your thumb over the open end. Opening the pump lid is like taking your thumb off the end of the straw. Any water in the pump should drain back to the level of the pool water.

I doubt anything is wrong, if that is the only problem you are seeing.
