Stone coping overhang on a polymer pool?

Today was the first day of our pool build. We planned on putting limestone coping overhanging the edge of our pool. (About a one inch over hang.) We realized tonight after pool builders left they set the pool at too high of an elevation. Builders are thinking we are going to butt the limestone up against the coping like it is done with cement. The only thing they have done so far is dig and set the polymer walls in the hole. No cement has been poured yet in the bottom. We are going to make them re do it tomorrow. They are not going to be happy. My concern is that they will tell us that the polymer pool walls will not be strong enough for an overhang. Does anyone on this forum know if it is possible to do a stone coping overhang with polymer pool walls?
