Still having PVC trouble

I bought these from Amazon

• TONGASS 2” MIP X 2” PVC HI-TEMP UNIONS - The 2-inch MIP threaded connector end is for a 2-inch FIP threaded pool pump connector while the 2-inch slip end is for a 2-inch PVC pipe. This high temp union coupling is a universal fit best used for pool pump installation

However, my PVC pipe doesn't fit tightly. It appears that the inner diameter of the union is slightly bigger than it should be, when compared to a coupler

Where did I go wrong? The description reads as if it should work.

Some pool equipment is made to fit 1 1/2 inside and 2 on the outside. If this one only fits 2 on the outside you can use a coupler and reduction to 1 1/2.

The white portion of the union inner diameter is just barely too big for 2"

From the description, I can't see where I went wrong? Nothing on it looks like it would work with 11/2" pipe

Maybe the outer diameter is for a 2.5? Anyways its the wrong diameter, you can return it. Or go into Lowes or HD to see what fits and get a reduction for it.

Thanks. I'm just mad because I can't see where I went wrong based on the description. And I want to know if I did so I can avoid that mistake in the future

Now I have to wait until Sunday to do my project or go to the pool store and pay double.

Right description. Most likely problem is with the manufacturer's quality control. Never heard of TONGASS. Very aftermarket, apparently. Your pipe should start out relatively tight going in and you should not be able to bottom it out without glue. CMP, at only $2.00 more on Amazon, is a very reliable brand, I use them regularly. They make high-quality replacement parts for many applications that I've never had a problem with.
