Thanks but I'm done slamming. I didn't lose CL overnight. Now it's just cloudy so I want to let the CL come back down and hopefully adjust the pH as needed.
Thank you.
Again...I just don't understand how continuing to SLAM will help my situation. Adding more FC into the pool is only wasting money as I don't have a CC issue and I'm not losing FC overnight. I have dead algae and the filter is not picking it up.
Thank you.

At this point, I have to assume my cartridges are bad. I don't know why...they're not old, i've taken good care of them, and they don't appear to be torn.
You are the hardest part of the SLAM...............waiting...........waiting for the filter to clear that last bit out of the water. It will happen. One day you will walk out to look at your pool and will see the sparkle back in the water!
There is nothing wrong with your filters. No need to get new ones. Once you get done with this SLAM you can deep clean the cartridge. You will soak the element for at least on hour (overnight is most effective) in (1) a commercial filter cleaner; or (2) one cup trisodium phosphate (TSP) to five gallons water; or (3) one cup dishwasher detergent to five gallons of water. I bought a large, plastic trash can to do this in when I had a cartridge filter.
