Steps to follow for leaky Coleman windows

Thought I’d post instructions on what to do if you have the Coleman branded pool with leaky windows. We had to make a claim yesterday.

1. Call 855-838-3888. They’ll quote you a crazy hold time but it’s less than 10 minutes.
2. Ask them to start your claim right there on the phone.
3. Ask for the email address to send proof of purchase and pictures to. Ask for the claim number, as it should be the subject of the email. The automated system does not work, and will not go through if you try to login from the email they send you. I had to call twice because of this.

Once you’ve taken pictures of the leak, you can attempt to seal with Marine grade Locktite or PC-11 to salvage some of your sanity until the new liner comes in.

Fortunately there’s not going to be a next time for me. I went to a pool contractor today and had an inground drawn up.

when i first saw that "window" i thought that would be pretty cool. then about a minute later, i thought, BAD IDEA

Update: the new liner came in today. It has windows as well but they’re supposed to have been tested. Lol. We shall see. Inground contractors are booked until October at least, so we’ll float around in here until these windows bust. Fedex driver said she’s been delivering liners all week, so we’re not the only idiots.

Have you installed the new liner yet and, if so how is it holding up?
Did you compare the new windows to the old to see if they actually did anything different or just sent you another one of the same defective liners?
A friend of mine with a machine shop made a stainless steel ring to go around the leaking window while I was waiting for new liner to arrive; it is working very well and looks pretty cool too, but would be pretty expensive if I was paying full price (especially for 4 of them!!)

There are two identical stainless steel plates inside & outside of the pool connected with 1/4-20 x 1/2" flathead SS screws. The outside plate is chamfered & the inside is tapped to allow the 12 screws to go through the liner and clamp the two plates together. It was a LOT of work and would have been too expensive except for my machine-shop friend contributing his time to do all the machining.

It's a nice look. Did you apply any sort of gasket/sealant on the inside plate to stop seepage through the bolt holes?
