Stenner help please

I have read virtually every thread on Stenner pumps for liquid chlorine automation and am still confused...

Will the Stenner simply plumb into the pool equipment? If so, where exactly? I will be having a heater to heat the pool and hot tub. I understand this may be an issue?

Also, with the automated liquid chlorine, does this mean CYA will not be required at all being that there is a steady stream of liquid chlorine being pumped in and will not burn up in time to be non effective?

The FC/CYA Levels aplies to ALL pools, dont matter if they are equipped with stenner or not. The stenner inyection point goes at the very end of the equipment pad(after heater,swg,etc..). Have you choosen a stenner already? Please fill in your signature with your pool size and pool info so we can help you better, like mine below.

Once the CYA is at the correct level you never really need to add any unless you pump water out of the pool or let the pool get so dirty that the cya turns into ammonia and/or nitrogen (not likely unless its a swamp).

The Stenner should inject the liquid chlorine in downstream of all your equipment. Also it should only inject it when the pool pump is running. I just put a tee fitting in my return line before it splits for each return.

No, normal CYA levels are still required

Thank you all, I have updated my signature.

I got a quote to install anywhere between $500 to $1,250. I live in Dallas,TX. That seems high, (excluding the Stenner pump obviously)

Does it matter that I have a heater? Also, do I go timed or variable? Its a permiter overflow pool/knife edge that has a 8 feet deep surge tank.

the stenner pump comes with a screw in check valve that 100% happens to fit one of the inputs (maybe the hole for a pressure gauge) of my standard puck feeder. I just screwed it into that. I had to add an adapter so the check valve didnt protrude too far into the puck feeder.

NEVER MIX PUCKS AND BLEACH.

In my last pool build I never installed the puck feeder and screwed the check valve into the hole for the puck feeder tube.



BTW liquid chlorine is insanely expensive right now and in my area is frequently out of stock. I ended up switching to saltwater because of this.
