Hi. My travertine waterline tiles have a dark stain above the waterline. I'm having it cleaned by "soda blasting" but want to seal the tile to prevent same in future. To pick the best sealer, I need to know what it is. Some have told me it may be metals, others say algae, some say dirt line. I have a Taylor test kit and we keep up our water balanced weekly. Have never tested for metals though.

Can you please offer any guidance as to what this is and how to prevent? Please zoom in on picture to see the stains.

thank you.
Lynn

PS - BTW - We live in Texas and lost ALL of our tropical plants in the recent freeze. Behind my pool is usually beautiful! LOL!
