Stained Steps

The water sat untreated in the pool since October and the steps are stained quite a bit. I have put bleach on them, let it sit, brush them, and then rinsed. The attached pic is the result. Any tips on getting the stains out? The liner is a similar color, but it is being replaced. Thanks in advance!

Iron? Try vitamin C.

That's my bet as well - iron. Crush several of those Vitamin C tabs into a thin sock or nylon and let it sit on an area. I suspect you'll see a change.

Maybe just a little moist on the steps/sock so the crushed tabs have something to smear and lay against well.

Yes. Be sure to wash it off well after.

Yellow Stains is your answer.

Classic metal staining. Vitamin C tablets will make that go white almost instantly. If your liner is stained as well. You would be best to perform an AA treatment.

Thanks for the tips everyone. The Vitamin C tablets did the trick. Looks much better and are now ready for the new liner!
