Sneak this in or start another thread? Every year I use ProTeam Metal Magic to remove yellowish stains that build up over the season. Very evident on the white steps, but I'm pretty sure it is evenly built up everywhere. The stain vanishes when rubbing a Vitamin C tablet on it. Now I have a heat pump. Should I bypass the heater or doesn't it matter?

Stain that lift from Vitamin C are iron stains.
Using Metal Magic or Ascorbic Acid should not lower pH to where a heater can be damaged. Although if you have a heater bypass it never hurts to bypass the heater.
