Sta-RIght Pump

I have a 3 year, 9 month old Sta-Right Intellipro VSF 3.0 HP pool pump 9made by Pentair) that stopped working suddenly. The screen shows a code "Pump not recognized." No one at Pentair knows what the message means and they will not service it since it is 9 months past warranty(!) It cost over $1200 so I am quite upset. They said they do not manufacture the pump and so have no repair capabilities. Or at least no desire to repair it.
Does anyone know where I can get this pump repaired or at least looked at? I am in central California.

Is your pump connected to an automation system, or is it a standalone pump?

If it is connected to an automation system, I suggest that you put the automation into the "Service Mode" and see if you can get the pump to run manually, by using the buttons on the pump's control panel.
