Spillover spa drained to level of the jets when turning the pool pump off

Hello,
We recently purchased a home with a spillover spa. The spillover spa drained to level of the jets when turning the pool pump off last night.
Looking for advice as to why this is happening.

The check valve on the far left of your pic is most likely bad or dirty..

That check valve is there just to prevent the spa from draining back into the pool.

Yes, the valve was very deteriorated. Time to replace it.

Make sure you buy OEM 'guts' for the check valve.. Buying cheap will not solve the problem, as all valves are not identical..
