Hi everyone!!
4 years ago our spa spill over was excellent, now it barely pushes over into the pool. We have a 15k chlorine pool. Pentair intelliflo vsf pump. We started with the high speed of 2750. I find I'm having to continually up the speed to make it fall nicely. Is my pp going bad somehow?

T,

It is your filter...

It is ether clogged with algae, even if you can't see it yet, or you used Clarifier or Floc and it has clogged your filter..

Tell us more.. What kind of filter do you have, and and when was it last opened and cleaned??

What 'magic' potions have you been putting into your pool?

What the heck is a "PP"???

Thanks,

Jim R.

Looking at your media you have valves when correctly adjusted will bring it back to spillover. Return a little more water to the spa or reduce the drain suction a little will cause the water in the spa to rise and spill over.

Oh my phone did something quirky lol. Pp was supposed to say pump! We just clean our filters last week. We have a Pentair Clean & Clear Plus.
I've only added chlorine tablets to the chlorinator, occasionally Muriatic acid or baking soda

You are not looking for an instant fix where it made it spill in 2 minutes. A slight adjustment from the position it was in will take a little more time to raise it. Now back it off a little at a time and wait for it to stop again and then advance it a little. You want most of the chlorinated water going to the pool.

T,

I don't think you "fixed" the real problem. By adjusting the valve, you are just sending more, of the little water you have, to your Spa..

In theory, most of the return water should go to the pool and just a little goes to the spa.

What is your filter pressure?

Something is not right...

Thanks,

Jim R.

I just did my first testing with the TF test kit.
My CYA appears to be off the chart. So I'm attempting to do the diluted cya test. The instructions say fill tap water to the "upper" mark. There's two above the 7.5 mark for pool water. 15 & 30ml. Which is the upper one?

Right did that

It is at the number 1 which I'm guessing 10. Our filters are 4 years old, perhaps we need new ones

At 130 ppm CYA, and I assume you will be using liquid chlorine to chlorinate the pool, you should drain at least 50-60% of the pool volume.

What location are you in? That will help guide me on how you should drain.
