Spa emptying when selecting spa

hi guys and thanks in advance, I had an issue with the spa valve leaking so I had a pool tech replace the seal.

Now when I select spa on the remote or the panel there spa empties and the actuator doesn’t move any more, adding photos and any ideas what I can check appreciated

Check the 3 position toggle switch on the side of the actuator.

Middle position is OFF. Move the switch to one of the other two positions to set the valve to the correct position.

Thanks how do o know which is the correct position , I’ve downloaded the manual doesn’t give me much details and the hyperlink from the page you gave me goes no where sorry. I’m going to google some more also

The valve can be in two positions and the toggle switch moves between the two.

In this position your return valve sends most water to the pool and a little bit to your spa spillover…

In the other position all water will be returned to your spa.

Your spa is draining because your intake valve is moving to suction water from your spa but your return valve is not rotating to fill your spa with water.

Ok so with position 1 or 2 I need water to be filling the SPA is that correct ? Also is there a way the handle should go clockwise or anti clockwise ? Last question does it need to go to SPA return the arrow to fill the SPA apologies for the questions

I also have a second of these GVA actuators should that one be moving in a different direction or just this one

Looking at my pictures this was taken in pool mode so I’m guessing the actuators need to point 90 degree the opposite.

Do I need both actuators to move one on the left and one on the right of the picture

Both actuators should turn when you change from POOL mode to SPA mode.

Look at where the OFF label is on the handle and what pipe it is on. In POOL mode they are both on the spa pipe.

When you change to SPA mode both valves need to rotate 180 degrees to block the pool pipes and open the spa pipes.

I’m perplexed as neither are moving could it be something on the control panel Hayward which has dropped its setting

Is there a configuration setting I need to check in the Hayward

No, it is usually the actuator toggle switches set to off by the pool tech. And then he forgets to set the switches before he leaves.

Ah and if he was replacing one seal like you say he turned both off just in case, ok I’ll try moving each to position one then if that doesn’t work each to position two and revert back thanks and good evening

Round 2 similar issue

when I switch to spa the level in the spa slowly goes down around 5 inches and every morning I’ve lost around 5 inches of water and have to use the hose to refill,

Q. Could it be air in the filter.
Q I just replaced all the w upgraded BlueStars 8 Packs SP1419D Directional Flow Hydrostream Return Jet Fitting with 3/4" Opening Rotating Eyeball this issue did exist prior to me doing this as some were cracked.

This is usually caused by a bad check valve in the spa return line.

Thanks much my only query would be should the check valve be visible in the below or would it be the check value on the spa nozzle which is missing below

The check valve, if you have one, would be in your spa return pipe by your equipment pad.

That cannot be seen from the overhead shots you have posted.

Thanks I’m running it now to test if The water level drops I did drop water out of the main pool whilst cleaning and have been refilling slowly I just checked under the spa return and cannot feel any check valve

Have you let the spa water level drop and see where it stabilizes at?

Picture of level has gone down a 1/4 of inch after 20 min of running just above the pressure spouts then I turned it off
