Source of sand leaking into pool?

Hi all
I have been getting about a handful of sand in my pool every few days so I have assumed it was a problem with a lateral leaking. Whilst emptying the sand out of the filter I have found a length of flexible piping which I assume to be some sort of air bleed attached at the lateral manifold but instead of the other end being up near the top of the filter it is is in the sand near the bottom of the filter. Could this be the source of my sand in the pool? Thanks

The air relief tube should be above sand level. If it somehow fell into the sand that could be an issue. I would secure it properly then monitor the situation for a few days to see if that fixed the issue.

Unfortunately the filter takes 350kg of sand so I would a wee bit annoyed if I put it all back in only to find out that problem still persists and I have to take all the sand out again!!

If the air bleeder tube is loose, it can allow sand into the pool.

The tube goes from the top to the lateral assembly.

What is the make and model of the filter?

Does the air tube have a screen?

Did you already remove all sand and check the laterals?
